AMBULANCE, POLICE AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT:
SHORTLY REACHABLE ON A SINGLE NUMBER
THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE INTEGRATED EMERGENCY SYSTEM IS NEARING COMPLETION

The 112 emergency number has been in use across the European Union since 1991.  Based on the guidelines defined by the European Committee, citizens of the Union in every member country should be able to reach rescue and Emergency Services using the same unified call system. Today, the 112 emergency number is callable free of charge from both land line and mobile phones in most European countries.  Stakeholders of the ESR-112 (unified emergency call system) Project in Hungary are cooperating on the realization of an EU-standard system, which will ensure faster response and more efficient emergency response services in Hungary.
